Congress’ biggest ‘pedophile’ hunter is teaming up with Matt Gaetz, who faces underage sex accusation

It’s often said that politics makes strange bedfellows. So perhaps this explains the alliance between Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). The pair recently announced their nationwide “America First” tour where they plan to “call out RINOs,” or Republicans in name only.

The announcement has people alternately scratching their heads, shuddering, and laughing. The two are arguably the most infamous members of Congress.

Federal authorities are investigating Gaetz for trafficking a minor for sex. The scandal intensified yesterday with a report from the Daily Beast that his friend, who’s expected to take a plea bargain, admitted both paid a minor for sex in a letter.

Gaetz denies any wrongdoing.

Greene, meanwhile, is notorious in her own right. She subscribes to the QAnon conspiracy theory that holds that an international cabal of cannibalistic, satanic pedophiles controls the world.

Some find it odd that a woman who believes a pedophilia-obsessed conspiracy theory would maintain an alliance with a man who’s accused of trafficking a minor for sex.

“I’ll be interested to hear how MargieQ reconciles her Q-ness with hanging out with an accused pedophile,” commented ShelKel2.

Sun-Sentinel columnist Fred Grimm was among the many who had some reservations about letting Gaetz roam freely about the country. “Lock up da chilluns,” he joked on Twitter.

“Matt Gaetz stay the fuck away from college students challenge,” journalist Talia Lavin tweeted.

Many, many people mocked the pair. The Duty to Warn Twitter account’s challenge to rename the tour attracted quite a few submissions, such as “MyPillow Presents: The Greene-Gaetz of Hell Tour,” “Raising Bail for Jail Tour,” “The Gaetz and Greene Misinformation Machine Tour,” and “The Alien and Sedition Act.”

A GIF challenge was similarly well received.

Gaetz and Greene’s first stop is in The Villages, a Florida retirement mecca that’s equally known for right-wing politics and sexually transmitted diseases.

Some were relieved—the minimum age to live in The Villages is 55.

Well at least he isn't doing this at the local HS. But honestly this sick pervert needs to resign https://t.co/eCvg0SNlRl — Natalee (@1Realnatalee) April 30, 2021

Greene and Gaetz have also created a joint fundraising committee. It seems they genuinely are tying their fortunes to one another, for better or, more likely, worse.

Matt Gaetz's ex-girlfriend to cooperate with federal authorities in sex trafficking investigation

Washington (CNN) Federal authorities investigating alleged sex trafficking by GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz have secured the cooperation of the congressman's ex-girlfriend, according to people familiar with the matter. The woman, a former Capitol Hill staffer, is seen as a critical witness, as she has been linked to Gaetz as far back as the summer of 2017, a period of time that has emerged as a key window of scrutiny for investigators. She can also help investigators understand the relevance of hundreds of transactions they have obtained records of, including those involving alleged payments for sex, the sources said. News of the woman's willingness to talk, which has not been previously reported, comes just days after the Justice Department formally entered into a plea agreement with Joel Greenberg, a one-time close friend of Gaetz whose entanglement with young women first drew the congressman onto investigators' radar. CNN reported last week that investigators were pressing for the...

Biden Wants to Hire 87,000 Additional IRS Agents to Go After Wealthy Tax Dodgers

The Biden administration is proposing hiring 87,000 new workers for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), effectively doubling the agency’s size, as part of a plan to beef up enforcement efforts and find billions of dollars in tax revenues that go uncollected each year. Enforcement efforts would primarily target individuals and corporations with higher incomes and profits, the administration has suggested. The hiring, which would be part of President Joe Biden’s overall $80 billion spending plan to increase enforcement efforts at the IRS, would not happen all at once. Instead, it would be carried out in phases, with a 15 percent growth in employment at the agency per year until that 87,000 hiring benchmark is reached. The move would help recoup (and go beyond) some of the employment losses the agency has seen over the past decade, as the IRS has lost more than 33,000 workers over the past decade. The drop in employment at the agency has resulted in fewer audits, particularly for filers w...
